TWCA Dominates School Team Championships 2017 - Winning it for a record 4th time.

The past weekend, 11 March 2017, TWCA once again showed their virtuoso on the chessboard. The 4 players in the Secondary school section Board 1. FM Dante Beukes; Board 2. Philip Mootseng; Board 3. Dudley Noreseb; Board 4. Patience Tsuses; deserves a huge round of applause for pulling off one of the greatest victories of TWCA.

All the TWCA Stars with Coach Matjiua & Max
The team scored perfect with 7/7 matches demolishing all opponent in their path. No one could stand in their way. They won all teams with either 3-1, 3.5-.5 or 4-0 scores. Phenomenal performance. FM Dante had a perfect score of 7/7 and so did Dudley Noreseb also with 7/7. After he won his last game Dudley commented a "flawless victory" meaning I won all my matches Coach.

We also registered two Primary school teams and here too TWCA showed their chess skill. Our Primary school team came 3rd overall in the Primary School Section. Worth mentioning here are the performance of the Board 1. Keisha Van Wyk who also scored 7/7. Keisha was on fire and demolish all her opponents boys and girls she struggled with in the past as if to say: I got your number. Her other team mates were Board 2. Thomas Prybylski, Board 3. Jamie-Nicole Beukes and Board 4. Ottilie Hinda. It was a team event and all 4 players had to pull their weight to earn the bronze medal they got. Believe me it was hard work every match.

We had a second team in the Primary Section: They were the real stars as they fought tooth and nail against their rivals. They were Board 1. Daniel Mouton; Board 2. Lilian Jansen; Board 3. Alex Cumming and Board 4. Ivannah Nitzborn. Every match was a titanic battle for these kiddies, and they prevailed. They learned valuable lessons in team play and had to content with a 6th position out of 7 teams. This team did not go home with nothing. They scored two victories and the spirits were high.

We were also the only academy who had a nice gender mix with two boys and 2 girls in the primary section. Well done to all 3 teams. We are super proud of you.

Thank you to the Parents and Coaches for supporting our players. You rock. Chess for fun, chess to win!!
