Christopher Ndoroma wins 1st TWCA Rapid Chess Tournament

Saturday, 30 January 2016 was set for the 1st TWCA Rapid Chess Tournament. The event was well attended by 26 students.

For some it was their first tournament and for others it was just another day of showing chess virtuoso.

The event was dominated by Christoper Ndoroma, the U/18 Chess Champion of Namibia. He took a cool attitude and  score victory after victory. A perfect score of 7/7 was the end result.

Christopher was followed by Matjiua Kajovi with 5/7 in second place. In third was CM Dante Beukes also with 5/7.

The girls also gave good account of themselves and Keisha Van Wyk had an excellent tournament, also scored 5/7 and coming 4th overall. She won the best girls prize and got a gold medal for her performance. In second place were Kamuiua Hipakua 3.5/7 and in third place were Jamie-Nicole Beukes with 2/7.

We also had a pawn chess tournament for the newcomers and little once. This event was won by Misha Kajovi with 5/5 followed by Maureen Shilangale with 4/5 and Voilet Hewicke with 3/5.

This year we will have a chess tournament every month and are looking forward to all the excitement which comes with this.
